About the Graduate Certificate in Public Health

Teacher and studentThis 12-credit hour program provides students with the core public health education they need to enhance their professional knowledge. Course credits earned for the Graduate Certificate will be credited toward the Master of Public Health degree in the event that a student decides to continue into the Master of Public Health Program. The Graduate Certificate in Public Health is aid-eligible under federal financial aid rules, and it is now possible to complete the Graduate Certificate in Public Health entirely online.

In order to be recommended for admission into the Master of Public Health Program following the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Public Health, students must earn a B or better in each Graduate Certificate course taken or attempted at the University of Missouri. Students who do not achieve a B or better in any or all Graduate Certificate courses may still submit a formal application to the Master of Public Health Program. Students who earn the grade of F in any course taken toward the Graduate Certificate in Public Health will not be permitted to continue in the program.
