  • Principles of Public Health
  • An approved Health Statistics course
  • At least one of the following courses: Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health, Epidemiology, or Human Health and the Environment
  • The last 3 credit hours must be selected from the list of elective courses.

Students who complete the Dean's Certificate of Graduate Study in Public Health with a minimum grade of B in each of the four courses will be recommended for admission to the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program should they wish to continue their studies. The course credits earned for the Dean's Certificate will be credited toward the MPH degree.

Application procedures: Students wishing to pursue a Dean's Certificate of Graduate Study in Public Health apply directly to the MU Graduate School as post-baccalaureate candidates.  (Standardized test scores are not required.)  Once admitted, certificate candidates must notify the MPH Program directly of their intention to enroll by filling out the Personal Data Sheet and sending it to Katherine Kirkpatrick in 802 Lewis Hall.
