Graduate Certificate in Public Health
This 12-credit hour program provides students with the core public health education they need to enhance their professional knowledge. Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Public Health with a minimum grade of B in each of the four courses will be recommended for admission to the Master of Public Health Program should they wish to continue their studies. The course credits earned for the Graduate Certificate will be credited toward the MPH degree. The Graduate Certificate in Public Health is now aid-eligible under federal financial aid rules. Beginning in Spring 2010, it will be possible to complete the Graduate Certificate in Public Health entirely online.
To be admitted to the Graduate Certificate program you must have...
1. Completed online application for the Graduate Certificate in Public Health. On your application, choose the Graduate Certificate option on the Admissions Category drop-down menu.
2. Completed MPH Program Personal Data Sheet (PDF). Please make sure a copy is received in the Master of Public Health Program office. The completed Personal Data Sheet may be mailed to 802 Lewis Hall, Columbia, MO 65211 or faxed to (573) 884-4132.
3. Official transcripts of all coursework from all universities, colleges, and/or technical schools attended. Please make sure a copy is received in the Master of Public Health Program office. Transcripts may be mailed to 802 Lewis Hall, Columbia, MO 65211.
4. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited university or other institution of post-secondary education. Colleges and universities from outside the United States must be recognized as degree-granting institutions by their country's Ministry of Education.
5. For international applicants: Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) report for international applicants whose native language is not English. The TOEFL exam results must be current (taken within two years of admission to the MPH Program), and scores must be sent directly by the Educational Testing Services (ETS) to MU Graduate School using the institutional code: 6875 (University of Missouri) and Department Code: 0616. For the TOEFL, admission will require a score of 550 or better on the paper-based version, a score of 215 or better on the computer-based version, or a score of 80 on the internet-based version. For IELTS, a minimum score of 6.0 is required.

December 11, 2009: Final deadline to apply for Spring 2010.
August 13, 2010: Final deadline to apply for Fall 2010.
